Female MPs in Singapore only make up nearly a quarter of the elected seats. It’s not easy being a woman in politics, having to grapple with stereotypes of being too soft for power, scrutiny over physical attributes and many other issues. It’s even tougher for mothers in politics as women are still expected to be the main caregivers for their children.
